Students must hold a basic certification or have practical knowledge in the foundations of blow-drying and styling before enrolling onto this setting and dressing hair course.

VTCT NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing Course

The Level 2 NVQ in Hairdressing is the essential starting point for all aspiring hairdressers. This course is a fast-track to success, providing you with the core knowledge and practical skills required to work in any salon. Our program is structured to give you the strongest possible educational foundation, with a blend of in-class and e-learning for a flexible yet rigorous experience.

To achieve your VTCT NVQ Diploma, you will complete the following elements:

5 in-class exams to test your theoretical knowledge.
10 assignments submitted throughout the program.
A large number of practical assessments on models in a professional setting.

You will be mentored by your tutor throughout your work sessions and receive regular progress assessments and appraisals to ensure you are meeting your learning goals.

Level 2 Course Modules

All students will complete the following modules:

Shampoo, Condition, and Treat the Hair and Scalp: Learn professional product application and client care.
Cut Hair using Basic Techniques: Master fundamental skills in cutting hair.

This course is your path to becoming a true master of your craft, enabling you to take on senior roles and more challenging, high-end clients.

Entry Requirements: To enrol in our NVQ Level 3 hairdressing course, students must hold an accredited Level 2 Diploma issued by a governing body.

Level 3 Course Modules

All students will complete the following modules:

Creatively Style and Dress Hair: Master advanced styling techniques to create sophisticated and bespoke looks for any client or occasion.
Creatively Cut Hair: Learn to use a combination of advanced techniques to create bold, fashion-forward cuts.
Creatively Colour and Lighten Hair: Master advanced colouring techniques to correct, lighten, and colour hair with creative and beautiful results.

Essential Course Information

Qualifications: Upon successful completion, students will receive a VTCT NVQ Diploma, a nationally recognised qualification that validates your skills and expertise.

Attendance & Duration

Part-time Programme: This is a 16-week programme with classes running one day a week.
Intensive Programme: This is an 8-week intensive programme with classes running two days a week.
Attendance: 100% attendance is compulsory for both programmes.
Teaching Hours: 9:30 am to 7:30 pm.
